The Global Organisation for Humanitarian Work Psychology is led by an Executive Board consisting of a Chair, Vice Chair, six Executive Board Members, and a Student Representative. Chair  – Vacant 

Vice Chair – Mary Hunt (Ave Maria University, USA) As Vice Chair, Mary works with the Board in running the organisation. Bio: Mary Hunt, MBA, MS, PhD (candidate) is an industrial/organizational psychologist and Assistant Professor of Business & Psychology at Ave Maria University.  Her research focus is leadership and career development, entrepreneurship and the work-family interface.  She began her career in marketing financial services.  She has worked in performance management and organizational development consulting roles in banking, healthcare and nonprofit organizations as well as senior management in higher education.  Hunt earned her B.A. at Wellesley College, an MBA at Washington University in St. Louis and is completing a doctorate in Industrial/Organizational Psychology at the Illinois Institute of Technology.


Executive Board Member – Mahima Saxena  (Illinois Institute of Technology, USA)

Bio: Mahima is an Assistant Professor of Industrial and Organizational Psychology at the Illinois Institute of Technology.  Mahima’s research explores the intersection of work experiences and health from a person-centric perspective. Mahima generally uses the experience sampling method in her research and is passionate about using I-O methods for humanitarian work psychology projects. She was also awarded a SIOP grant to explore work-experiences of informal workers in South Asia. Mahima earned her Ph.D. from Purdue University in Indiana. She is a founding member of GOHWP and is passionate about using I-O for furthering humanitarian goals and facilitating research and practice of the field of HWP globally.






Executive Board Member – Mary O’Neill Berry (NGO Representative to the United Nations Economic and Social Council, USA) Bio: Mary is an organisational psychologist and management consultant specialising in international survey and evaluation research, particularly in the non-profit arena. She obtained her Ph.D. in social psychology from Columbia University. She is an NGO Representative to the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) from the International Association of Applied Psychology (IAAP) and is past Co-Chair of the Global Organisation for Humanitarian Work Psychology. Her current research focuses on the global implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as well as Project GLOW (Global Living Organizational Wage).



Executive Board Member – Recia Gomez (Florida International University, USA) Bio: Recia earned a Master’s in Industrial/Organizational Psychology at Florida International University in Miami, Florida and works as a practitioner in the development of assessments for Law Enforcement hiring and promotional Assessment Center processes. She is currently based in the Caribbean to develop promotional assessments for a national police force project. In the past, she has worked with the Organization of American States (OAS) in conducting feasibility studies to engage international donor organizations in order to establish regional investment funds for natural disaster relief in the Caribbean region. Recia is interested in the cross-cultural application of assessments, to better understand how items differentially function across geographic region, culture and language. She joined GOHWP in 2014 and hopes to contribute to its development through increased representation, member involvement and collaborative work.


Executive Board Member – Morrie Mullins (Xavier University, USA) Bio: Morrie is a Professor of I-O psychology at Xavier University (Cincinnati, USA).  During his time at Xavier, he has overseen a number of applied projects in support of non-profit organizations in the region, and worked to help Xavier’s I-O program become a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact.  He previously served a three-year term as editor of The Industrial-Organizational Psychologist (TIP), with the highlight of his editorship being his increased familiarity with and support for the important work being done by psychologists as part of GOHWP and SIOP’s United Nations team.  He is committed to finding ways to support work psychology’s outreach to humanitarian causes and to furthering the visibility of GOHWP with educators and practitioners.

Student Representative  – Natalie McCullough (University of Valencia, Spain) Bio: Natalie is the student representative to GOHWP. She is a Master’s student in Work, Organizational and Personnel Psychology in the Erasmus Mundus Program.  She studies at the University of Valencia in Spain, where she and co-founded the Humanitarian Psychology Work Group, and carried out coursework at the University of Coimbra in Portugal.  She has a passion for human rights and social justice, and firmly believes that I/O psychologists can make a difference in the lives of people throughout the world with their unique skills and knowledge.  She is originally from Indianapolis, Indiana in the United States.  She received her Bachelor’s degree from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio, where she studied business and psychology.
